Dead Red Hour

biog

Marc and Tom met at Royal Holloway University back in 2005 and started a bit of acoustic jamming together playing regularly at local open mic nights. A few months later they met the then-long-haired Luke. Realising he had a little rhythm and could actually make his hands and legs work independently from each other (the likes that the two guitarists had never seen before) they all agreed that they should all start writing and playing music together...In walked Paul, fresh from the law-filled world of London; armed with his newly acquired bass it was obvious that this machine was going to provide the bowel trembling noises that the rest of the band had been waiting for. So, for two or so more years, along with “studying” at university, Dead Red Hour (as they began to be known) started to write original material and gig a little bit.

There was a common consensus that moving to London together after university was a good idea. It would give the DRH boys the chance to play some gigs, get into the local scene, etc. So since July 2007 they have been living in South London playing gigs whereever they can get them. In December 2008 Dead Red Hour released their first mini album entitled Take Arms which is their work from the past couple of years. Having written countless new songs since Take Arms' inception, they hope to start recording their new album in the summer. Their gigs have impressed audiences and promoters and they are now looking to go a bit more hardcore and do some heavy gigging on the London circuits.

Dead Red Hour appeared at the-situation MODERN #5.
